Geneva Basin Ski Area - Wikipedia

Geneva Basin Ski Area (originally Indianhead Ski Area) opened in 1963. Geneva Basin was developed by an Illinois family after their Indianhead Ski Area in Michigan, (now Indianhead Mountain Resort). Indianhead closed in 1965 and the property was auctioned off to former Colorado Governor Roy Romer and the Burke Family. In 1974 they sold it to an investment group from Kansas who enlarged the number of runs and lifts. It closed again in 1984. A few attempts were made to reopen the area. Lack of snowfall during this time, along with insufficient funds, made this mostly wishful thinking.
